Notes on method

Period

Hezbollah resumed attacks on Israel on 2 March 2026, in support of Iran, and Israel invaded southern Lebanon. A truce took effect on 19 June 2026 and a framework agreement was signed on 26 June. Since then the violence has lessened but not stopped; Israeli forces still hold part of southern Lebanon (status on 13 October 2026).

Lebanese figures

The Ministry of Public Health publishes a running total every few days. It counts everyone killed by Israeli attacks and does not distinguish between civilians and fighters.

Israeli figures

No Israeli authority publishes a separate count for the Lebanon front. The figures on this page are counted from reports of individual deaths, mainly by The Times of Israel. Israel's national totals, which cover all fronts, are on the page Gaza and Israel.

Comparability

The two sides are counted by different bodies in different ways. The figures are shown side by side and not added up.

Order and design

The panels appear in the alphabetical order of the language shown and share the same structure, typography and colours.
